KP's JW JP29 Build [Complete]

Thank you, thank you, yes i'll have some little changes here and there but really going for the JW version. One thing I changed was the winch plate and winch brand (mainly because I already had a rusty old winch on another jeep and I don't care for the flat steel mounting plate seen in JW, it just looks sloppy).

The winch I installed 2 nights ago, the holes on the plate did not match the jeep, so I had to drill new ones in the plate along with 2 large holes in the top of the bumper for the winch mounting bolts to drop down into

spent yesterday getting all the small stuff buttoned up with the dash, seat belts, floor brackets, sound bar, etc.

Today, after a day delay, the glass guy arrived and installed a new windshield



after that, I installed the carpet, seats, console, visors, soft top hardware




also installed the fog lights and hood tie downs





almost there, still have a few things to do:
-oil and filter change
-add t-case fluid (drained during swap)
-add coolant
-install front and rear trackbars with new bushings
-install sway bar with new bushing and links
-install e-brake cables
-brake fluid and bleed brakes
-install new battery
-install cb, cable and whip antenna
-rear fog wiring

got a lot done today in the way of odds and ends, not too picture worthy, so here's a list:

-installed front track bar with new bushings
-installed sway bar with new greasable bushings and new links
-installed exhaust down pipe and catalytic converter, fixed broken exhaust mount at transmission
-installed front driveshaft
-installed new rear brake cables and missing brake hardware, e-brake is now fully functional
-changed oil and filter
-refilled transfer case fluid
-refilled radiator coolant
-refilled power steering fluid
-refilled brake fluid and bled brakes (with the wife's help)
-installed a battery
-installed wiper arms and wipers (had to fold the windshield down again and re-position the wiper motor arm as the wipers were moving just a few degrees in either direction)

-also transferred my tag and insurance back over to this jeep.

waiting on muffler, tail pipe and hanger to arrive tomorrow, thanks to amazon prime

Ha, I think I'm taking a break after this one, however the wife said she'd drive one if I found her an automatic, uh oh

Kept busy yesterday and it paid off...

got an early Christmas present and installed it, had to drill some holes since my jeep did not come with the correct windshield tie downs




got the "4.0L" decal installed


modded and installed the winch controller port to look like that seen in JW promotional pictures



my muffler and tailpipe arrived thanks to Amazon


mocked it up and welded it in


modified the end of the coaxial cable to work with the whip antenna base, soldered and heat shrink for a clean install



The weather got a bit cooler, so I brought the doors inside last night, got them warm and installed the logo decals using the soapy water method and they came out perfect (no air bubbles). These decals from Jack_Fauth are amazing in quality !!!



Installed the front JP plate and re-installed the doors



only 2 things left to install and it will be complete !

yes, the CB will be functional, as well as the rear fogs and winch. I plan to use this for light trail riding trips as well

Finished !!!

Last up was the whip antenna and rear view mirror tag. I also started it for the first time, and it fired right up, success !!!
