I was surprised that when radiant fire has a flat clear, it will look very much canon. What about taking a test piece out into the light? You could spray something with flat clear and something with semi gloss and see which is the winner.

I think I was kind of rambling before but the plan is to probably go with a single stage dupont paint.

Single stage in matte, or single stage in semi-gloss?

I was leaning towards matte. But of course now that it's approaching the time to decide I'm afraid of making the wrong choice

I'm also coming up to decision time. I'm considering semi-gloss even though its not canon. I'm not sure at this time which would be best without seeing both right next to each other.

No real updates. Just waiting on sand and a nice day to sandblast the jeep. Ordered 4 jabsco lights for $180 each. Whoever got them for $100 a piece lucked out big time. I've been looking for a few months and there's been NOTHING going for that price on ebay. I think the lowest I've seen on a used set with everything included was $170.

It took me over a year I'd say (7-23-2012 through 5-20-2013), looking and hoping no one from here would post what I was bidding on ha.

And of course, I just found a set of 4 for $600 shipped. Crapnuggets.

Made a bit of progress over the weekend. Most of the electrical has been run (for overhead lights, rear fogs, front fogs, sound system, speaker cables etc). I still need to install the switches to independently turn everything on and off. I installed new Polk front 6x4's. What a PITA. Had to drill 4 new holes in the speaker to mount it, then had to fab up a spacer because the tweeter sticks out past where it mounts and interferes with the grill. The tub was sandblasted and temporarily primered. My father in law is still trying to figure out paint sheen situation...

Hole drilled for the overhead lights. I also drilled the hole for the antenna, but didn't get a pic of it.

Quick little update. This week I went to the local printer and gave her the artwork I made for the hood and side numbers. I don't know if it's just me, or if every sign maker is condescending. But anyways, I still need to figure out where to get the door stickers.

As for progress on the jeep, the half doors have been repaired primed. Passenger door is on the car. Passenger fender is also on the car! And of course I forgot to take any pictures while I was over there yesterday. The tailgate and windshield frame are the last of the big items that need to be repaired.

Also, I purchased the domain dinojeep.com to document my progress. I'm still working on getting everything in there, but I think the layout is basically done. I'm getting everything in as I have time, which includes editing all my posts here so they make sense over there...
