Its time to pack up and move south! How can you deal with that? Im sorry...hope you dont die. LOL

Thankfully the roads were pretty cleared the next day and I can now get one car out of the driveway! (That's a photo of what the plows left in front of the parking spots) On the plus side, for maybe the first time ever we didn't loose power!

And yeah, south is starting to sound pretty good right now. I'm a recent New Englander, but I've been through worse in other areas I've lived. That being said, it might be time to move back to one of those previous, warmer states! I miss year-round car wrenching!

Part discovery has been kind to me the last 2 weeks.

Whip antenna is present and accounted for.
Rear KCs are at the post office.
Correct front fogs have been located thanks to a post in the forum.
Mopar bar hopefully gets picked up this weekend.
REP-6000 guy flaked, but I wan't holding my breath.
Jabasco lights (4@ $200/ea) can wait until last.

And, best of all, I found 2 unused new-old-stock (NOS) half doors for $200 for the pair!!!
They need repainted as one has a scratch from storage, but I'm not going to think twice for new at that price.

On the '93 Jeep itself, I was having some dash lighting issues. I discovered the instrument cluster wiring (the old 70's style copper on plastic membrane) was shot. So its down until the replacement arrives via eBay purchase. But the Jeep is now registered and awaiting inspection. I was able to get R4PTOR as a plate.

Meanwhile:
The Mopar lightbar should be in my hands tomorrow!

Trying to make a deal for some Jabasco lights for the bar. We'll see how that pans out.

The same seller who sold me the NOS half doors has a correct unused soft top in box.
She said I'd probably hear from her come spring.

REP-6000 is proving difficult. I've found sellers, but they refuse to send the photos they promise.
Not going to drive 3 hours out of my way without seeing it first!

Still need to replace my front fogs, rims, and side mirrors with the correct versions.

And, just for prosperity, one of the new-old-stock doors.

They were both still in their from-the-factory wrappers. One has a superficial scratch from being stored for 20 years...but the weatherstripping is like new.

I almost hate to repaint these.

Last week I had the jeep running at night for the first time and noticed no dash lights.

So, after spending the week disassembling both gauge clusters, replacing the plastic/copper membrane on one with ebay parts, cleaning every single contact, replacing all the larger bulbs regardless of how the looked, disassembling the cluster's connectors on the dash harness, using a dental pick to bend each connector in just a tad more for better connection, and 20+ other steps, I now have Lighting!

I can now go in for the state inspection. Hadn't bothered until now—figured I'd get dinged with the lack of proper lights.

Patiently waiting for spring so I can start paint!

Oh yes spring! The easter bunny, warm weather, skirts, and car projects resume! I now have a smile on my face thinking about how close it is now Wal-Mart now has easter stuff out. Good luck in the inspection, i forget that other states still have those. Those were always a wast of time here in Oklahoma. I dont think they ever checked my dash lights. All they would do was check the brake and signal lights. They would do a walk around and look under the vehicle then charge me money Now we can do whatever we want to our vehicles This is good for me because i cant pass emissions with anything but maybe the jeep, not that they ever checked that here before.

Skirts ftw!

I don't take a chance on safety after an incident in CA. Fixed an '87 Vette that had minor damage but came with a salvage title. $100 per safety check that could only be preformed at special stations. I got dinged for a single bulb. Best part was it was the top rear brake light and the other lights in the housing were fine. Oy... IIRC, I spent about $300 on the safety check alone.

Meanwhile, I'm back with the waiting game. It occurred to me the top 2 hood latches are busted off. They came off in my hands after I bought it. Yanked too hard I guess. Parts are ordered! It might be overlooked in the inspection...but I'm not in a hurry. What's another week when there's still 2 feet of snow on the ground?

I did that once as well..... got on the freeway and was like what the heck is going on.....
