The pictures Cyrix9445 took of his 8000 on the winch page has a solenoid pack under the motor. Not sure how he pulled that off. All the 8000s i have seen has had the pack like the one for sale on Craigs list but that doesnt mean they do not exist. With the clearance between the motor and the mounting plate there would be no way to mount that pack below the motor without some crafty modification.ImperialTrooper wrote:Could the solenoid pack be relocated and a fake one built underneath the winch for show? 6000s are really hard to come by, especially with dozens of us looking for the right part.

Does your jeep need repainted? Why do you think it does? It looks good in the photos other than the small rust spot on the windshield frame and that is painted red anyways. I need to see more close up clean photos to determine if it needs new paint but from what i see you only need the red added. You can take the pin striping off and buff the whole jeep and it will look a lot better.Zombierockstar10 wrote:ya I agree i wana have a winch soon tho i would hate to get stuck and not have one

I just went back to look again and i notice that you have a 94. MrScorpio also has a champagne jeep. With his and mine sitting next to each other there really isnt that much difference between it and the sand beige. The problem that he had was the pin stripe. His was put on before the clear coat was sprayed so removing it was a chore that chipped the clear coat. Not sure if yours is that way but that would justify a repaint.

Re: FL JP Jeep 18
Im not sure but that is probably the clear coat making the foggy look in areas. Sand beige poly has no clear so it is easy but with a clear coat you will buff through it. After buffing through the clear in the bad areas it will look great for a little while but then it will dull in that area after some time passes. Start with removing the side stripes and see if the clear was put on over them. A good paint guy might be able to lightly sand and re-clear saving the paint underneath. Im a intermediate at the best so you need a good paint guy to look at it. From the photos i dont see the foggy areas though. If the clear coat was applied over those side stripes the clear will be thrashed getting them off. It will leave a jagged lip in the clear the distance of the jeep and you also have the circle from the Sahara logo. Talk to a pro before just taking it in to Maco. Maco does good work if you pay top dollar but that low price will be no masking done. You should mask everything before taking it to them.
