Re: Josh's Jeep #22

So over Can-Am weekend (Jul-16 to 17) my local town had a parade and my father and I decided it would be fun to enter the jeep into the parade! But of course we couldn't justttt have the jeep. So we rigged up a trailer the Saturday before.

Its supposed to appear as if we are transporting a dinosaur in the trailer I have. As you can tell it was of course very low budget.. We wanted to find some kind of dinosaur costume or even a dinosaur head or something to put in the crate, but couldn't find anything in the time frame we had to fit our budget.

So we ended up just grabbing a few pallets that were laying around, screwed them together and lined the inside with cardboard. Threw in a cd player and a few speakers, whipped together a few sound effects and that was that.

My dad is just learning what the android market is on his Droid X.. So needless to say this was just about the only picture that was decent enough to put up....

I'll snap some more pictures soon and put them up before we disassemble the trailer.

Next year I plan to kick it up quite a few notches with possibly a life size dino and a few other touches...

Oh and I just bought myself one of these (see pic below). So we'll see if anything happens with it by next year... But I'm sure you all know my intent.

OH! and don't worry, for all of those that are interested enough I have a few videos of the jeep & float that I will be shooting up onto Youtube in a few days here and I'll be posting the link

That's so awesome! Looks like a lot of fun. Funny you should do the trailer transport. I was talking with my wife a couple weeks ago about doing a simular thing. She races cars and will be getting slicks in the near future and will need a way to get them to the races. I already drive the jeep there with the dogs so we thought it would be cool to dress up a trailer as a dino transport for the slicks :D

Great find on the Explorer! You will soon have your own fleet :P

I've been doing some work here and there on the jeep, but nothing major enough to post up on here or fore me to remember to take pictures.

My shifter cover has been ripped since I bought it so I decided to grab a new one and replace the broken one today. I also took of my hood latches and got them all sanded down and repainted them because they were starting to show so rust, which is unacceptable.

Here's a picture of the new cover before I sanded off the paint bubbles and rust spots for repainting:

Here is another picture all cleaned up:

The paint is drying right now so I'll add some pictures once its dry

What size BFG are you running?
If it runs, you bought it, and it is a Jeep, You're good to go.

I recently won a pair of OEM fog lights off ebay for the jeep for a good price! So I'm going to get them cleaned up and hopefully get them mounted by this weekend.

I took the jeep out in the back and was playing on a few piles of dirt. Clearly going to slow...(Someone was yelling at me to slow down - so I did). I bottomed out and got it stuck. Oops :)
