and here's the guts of it. There's a small ccd chip underneath that lens. It'll take quite a bit of work, but I think it will be possible to build the lenses to focus light onto that ccd. If not, I could always make the lenses just have dummy lenses in them and hide this thing inside. There's a small, probably 1.5" lcd on the back side that displays the image in B&W, green, red or blue tinted. It does surprisingly well in the dark, with the IR illuminators.

Re: Night Vision Goggles
No, but I have made some progress. I've printed a few parts to verify everything moves the way it's supposed to. Had to tweak a few things, and havn't had a chance to reprint. I've also got the LED's and motors turning on their circuit. It's kind of my back burner project at the moment.

Any further progress? I know this is an old thread...

Re: Night Vision Goggles
I'm still chugging along with them. I have the models drawn up to about 95% and once I'm happy with them I'm going to send them to shapeways. Hopefully they'll be available sometime in february, no idea on price point though.
Here's the latest picture (ignore the blue clay, it's just holding the yellow part in place for the shot):
