thieves won't usually steal the stuff inside the jeep b/c they know the jeeps doors are probably more valuable than the stuff inside. i have never heard of a jeep being broken into and stuff being stolen, they usually just take the whole jeep, i would invest in a good kill switch if your worried about theft, a hardtop just makes it a bigger target b/c there worth more.

I make a point to not drive and park anywhere near a Mall.
I park in the garage at night and even turn off the door opener

At work I'm in an enclosed compound so I'm ok here.
No valubles left on display but my center console you can open by just pulling on the top, the screws for the latch aren't even in the wood.
Need to get a new one for that if I intend to go anywhere where I'd need it.

I've lived in a very urban metro area for three years, and have never had anything stolen out of my Jeep. I drive without a top 90% of the time, and I make sure to never leave any valuables in the Jeep.

Torx bits were once uncommon, maybe 30 years ago. Every hardware and car parts store sells torx bits. You can get torx bits at Walmart.

10/08/11 - Registered the Jeep at the Nevada DMV under license plate "JP 12". Plates should arrive in about 4 weeks. In the meantime I will be making the custom front license plate, I got the correct base plate to use. If anyone has access to a vinyl cutter and is willing to make me the templates or decals for the license plate, I'll toss a couple bucks your way.

10/09/11 - Replaced the mirror torx bolts, with the jeep-community-recommended hex bolts. I already love the new bolts. I will eventually replace most of the torx bolts to hex.

10/11/11 - Jeep is at my mechanic's shop. The transmission mount is broken. Should have it back hopefully by Friday. Found a lightbar, getting a shipping quote for it.
