Re: Henrique's Jurassic Land Cruiser
that's a common misconception. I thought they were grey until I came here too. I think most of us did.

Yeah, probably. That's easy to understand, because the paint color looks grey at natural light. And the jeeps are always portrayed in the movie on natural lighting. I took two pictures from Jack Fauth's #12. One over the sunlight (up) and another in the garage (down). See how the first one looks grey and the second one champagne.

I had to make some repairs in the frame's rear end. It was rusted and is almost done.

The frame is ready to be painted. The rusty pieces were substituted. I also replaced the joints of the leaf springs and removed the old giant heavy bumpers. I'm going to design and build better bumpers.

The frame is now painted. The engine is in place and also painted. I choosed grey for the engine and wheel axes because green is its original color. My jeep will probably be the only with these pars in grey. That will help me to avoid unauthorized parts replacement which sometimes occur in machine shops, in my country. Some thievish mechanics can take a good part from my car and replace it by a bad one, unfourtunately it happens sometimes around here.
When I had the first look to the grey engine I stantly realized that it is the wrong color for the car. I'll have to look for a warm grey color, closest to champagne.

A slovenian cousin send me pictures from the jeep in april 2005, before the salty air destroy it. Those are the best I have.

That's my hope, Ecto-DMC. The Land Cruiser is stronger and bigger than the Wrangler, so it will probably look like a Jurassic Jeep on steroids!
Now, with a good picture from the vehicle before the "facelift", I can make a good sketch of how it will probably look when done.

The diesel tank is being installed.
I bought a new bodywork for the jeep, but it needs some repairs and I want to make some modification.
