Baylor's #12 Build

After looking for jeeps around my area and across the U.S I finally found a good stock Sahara only 60 miles from me on ebay. I met with the couple and decided this was the jeep for me. It's a '94 green Sahara that's completely original other than the radio.

I plan on building a #12 since I'm a software developer and always thought Nedry was cool when I watched the movie when I was little lol.

Here are some pictures of what I'm starting with. If y'all have any suggestions on how how to removing the warping the carpet I'd love to know.

I think it's less difficult than here in France to find a YJ Sahara.
I am planning to finish mine in JP12 before the end of August, I just need to finish to collect some last parts and I am ready to go.
So once again good luck and you choose the good number ^^

Are you asking how to remove the carpet without warping it? The flexible rubber undercoating on the carpet will not deform from taking it out. The only way to deform it would be to fold it into a box and leave it. The rear carpet sections remove easy but the front section requires the removal of the seats and console.

I think it's cool we have similar starting jeeps for our builds and both chose JP12. Looking back at your thread I see you are moving at light speed and finishing before August should be easy.

When looking at the carpet in the back of my jeep the corners have warped in three places and I'm wondering how to correct it. Is it as simple as glueing it back to the tub or is there a proven technique?

I should have proofread my initial post. That last sentence is unbelievably disconcerting. I blame my iPhone.

Heatgun and weight oa what i would try first

I will try the heat gun and weight this weekend. After bending the carpet around I don't think it will be that hard to fix.

I made some progress on the conversion. I've installed a Ramsey 9.5 e winch and a Hustler whip antenna and ball mount with the help of my Dad. It was so much more tedious lining everything up than I thought it would be.



When mounting the whip antenna I masked off ball mount point to help prevent rust and hopefully create a better seal with the gasket.



I think my next step will be finding the correct rims and semi-correct rear fog lights.
