Well.....one of the bolts for the leaf spring was driven in with the intention that it would NEVER be taken out again.
The threads were trashed so we had to cut it out and pry the leaf spring out - took a LONG time.

Bushings are impossible to find unless you buy the kits that contain the shackle bushings as well...so paying more for stuff I don't need - BOOO!!!

Front springs are in - WOW!!

Had to order excess bolts and bushings to get what I needed so if anyone in OKC is thinking of doing theirs please let me know before you buy the hardware as I have it in hand and cheap.

Back springs will be going in later this month, need to get new U bolts.

Check your rear shock mounts.
The design allows for water to sit and rust them.
Was airing up my tires and thought 'DAMN'

$25 replacement mount and got my local welder to cut and and weld this one on.

I had that problem.... So many bad designs on that rear, but glad they are all fixable with ease

Well I was rear ended the other month :(
Luckily the only rear damage was a crushed bumperette and a folded in rear bumper, but she shunted me into the car infront so my front fonder was smooshed and my front bumper bent inward at a nice angle.
Was worried the insurance would total it so said "pay used parts and paint and I'll fix it" which they did.
Found a front fender with flare for $100 at a scrap yard with the other parts (minus the fog light) online.

Anyway while pulling the front fender off I found a crack in my manifold which I was researching to fix. I know you can use thermosteel to fill the crack way cheaper than replacing the part and then reseal it every few months as it was only a minor crack.
Well the alternator went out so took it into the garage to get that all fixed and said "check the manifold for any other leaks but don't worry about replacing it".
Got a call the next day saying I had a cracked header, repair total $1,200+
Well crap, more problems I wasn't aware of but OK'd the repair.
Went to pick it up a few days later and had the mechanic go over the repairs.
Showed me the cracked header...which was the manifold I'd told them not to worry about.

Guy had forgotten to put 'don't replace the manifold' on the work order and I was not aware header and manifold were the same thing in garage lingo.
Apparently the stock header is steal while manifolds are cast iron.
$1,200 later and she's driving really nice though and the battery is charging again.

Time for a new soft top and to replace the snaps on the door frame bar as well before the fall gets here.
Ah the joys of driving 25 year old vehicles!!

Tired of mouse turds bouncing the Jeep around every time I ride over one.

JCWhitney came through and I found 4 of them on my door step yesterday evening.
Bushings and shackles should be here today so this weekend should be a fun time.
With discount code they ran me about $410 overall which I thought was OK.

No lift though, just a direct replacement for the stock 4 leaf ones I have.
Knowing they're new will make the Jeep drive better ;)
FYI if you're replacing your springs make sure you get the right ones (don't believe the compatibility chart)
Those who see my Jeep see that it rides high, but it has no lift.
The springs JC Whitney sent me are fully 100% compatible but you don't know until they're on and by then it's too late.
These ripped my shock mounts off the axle as the shocks were fully extended so had to get new ones welded on higher up.
Also wait to order your shackle bushings until you know what size to get for the new shocks.
Check the reviews on sites like this prior to ordering to be safe.
