Cyrix's JP Jeep #12

Post by Cyrix9445 » November 19th, 2009, 5:36 pm

Replica of the #12 Jeep driven by Dennis Nedry. Jeep is almost fully complete, with the exception of the fabricated tow hooks.

Looks great! What year is your YJ? Did you photo document the build?

Also, in this picture, you have what appear to be switches mounted to the passenger grab handle just like in the movie Jeeps. Is this your own homemade design?

Also, the JP Jeeps didn't have A/C... In order to retain the authenticity of your rig, you should remove your A/C system and sell it to me!

My Jeep is a '95. I have some photos of the build, I'll post them up like a time laps sorta thing, the switches/joysticks are the ones that came with the lights, mounted on top of the grab handle, the only fabrication I did there was make a blank plate to cover the unoccupied space. I'll take some better pictures of the switches.

I think I'll take the hit on authenticity and keep my AC lol

Hey thanks! I need to take some more pictures, I wanted to get some pictures from our last off-road outing, but it was at night so they didn't show. Soon, I'm going to pick up a digital SLR camera to take some really nice pictures with.

Sweet. Sounds like a plan. I was just browsing on Craigslist looking at Jeeps, and guess what I found. A bunch of rusted out peices of crap. lol. How much do you think you've invested so far in your Jeep?

5k for the Jeep, then about $900 for the modifications (lights, winch, paint)

Out of curiousity, where did you happen to find the Mopar light bar? Ebay?

Yep, eBay, it was like $45 shipped (used). I found one local as well, but it was more expensive, around $100. So I went with the ebay one.
