Dave's JP Jeep #29
Re: Dave's JP Jeep #14 or TBD
Unless I am thinking of the wrong seal (like the one inbetween the transmission and the TC, if there is one there)... then you did a whole lot of work for nothing. I replaced my output seal on the extension (cone) part that comes out the back to the driveaxle.
All you have to do is remove the 4 bolts on the yoke. Push the axle into the transmission, clear the yoke, pull it out. Pull out the seal, put in a new one, insert axle and tighten the 4 bolts again. It takes about 20 minutes with jacking up the Jeep.

Yep, my output seal on the tranny was bad, not the output seal on the T/C. That one would be alot easier .
It was this seal here:

Hahah. No. You definitely did more than I thought. Yeah 2-3 hours + easily! I hope I never have to do that. I would need to buy a new crossmember, mine is too rusty.

I was just happy that none of my nutserts in the frame broke off. I did apply liberal amounts of antisieze upon re-installation. So down the road I should be able to remove .

Warmed them up with a hair dryer then started the end with an old credit card. The copper stripe was tougher than the green. Its a little shinier where the stripe was but won't matter when I re-clear.

Scored a Mopar lightbar today thru a gent on Jeepforum. Should be here next week, its got a little surface rust but should be good to go after sanding and POR15. I am stoked that I am one step closer to paint.

Test fit the lightbar, its got a good bit of surface rust/paint bubbling. But should clean up well. I think it is the same as Dan's and Cyrix' I am going to pull the thru bolts and see if I can get it apart. If so I am going to shorten it maybe 1-1.5 and weld it back to make it more movielike.
