I've been away from here awhile. Lost my job so progress stopped completely. :( But since I've found a new job I've picked things back up. Thanks for the suggestions on the metal dash but my Dad got lucky and found a guy about 100 miles out from where I live who parts out YJs. My dad went with a buddy to get parts for theirs and snagged me a lot of stuff I need. Steering wheel, sun visors, complete dashboard with the metal underpiece, spice colored roll bar padding and new taillights. Also I've got 34 bolts that are stripped and were gonna run me about $5 each, they got those too. All for about $100.

I've got the correct wheels and they're painted, I just need to switch them over and take photos. With this new job and finishing up college I have had absolutely NO time to do anything with my Jeep. We got a lot of snow and I was really bummed I didn't have it ready to go driving with. I'm definitely hoping by mid-January to be nearly completed because after the 5th my schedule has a lot of free time. If anyone knows where I can snag a cheap spice soft top I'd appreciate it, I've been watching ebay and craigslist but jcwhitney has one new for around $400. I also need a bumper (mine is chrome).

With Christmas being yesterday my cousin found this on ebay and got it for me, we all know it's not accurate but I think it's neat.

Thanks to everyone paying attention to my build! I appreciate the feedback.

My tan top is a cheap replacement. Its made by pavement ends and is like $200 I think. If you can hold out until march mine will be for sale.

I haven't checked in here in a long time! Back in June I was "finished" with my Jeep (I'm missing a few items like the winch and fog lights) and never posted updated pictures.

I've got the soft top, I'm just not putting it back on yet 'cause the weather is still so great. That should happen in the next few weeks though.

It looks crooked here because of the way I was holding it, I was trying to not scratch the paint. These aren't motorized and are shallower than the Jabsco ones.

can you tell me a little more about the type of material and did he weld these together?...i don't see seam lines or anything. Did he buy the materials local or cut them dowm. These look very good and i would like to use your dad's method to do my guards for my Jabsco lights.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Jack

I haven't been back to this forum in months again.

Here's a photo of my JP Jeep with the soft top on. This past September it won Best in Class at a car show.
