Something Different.
Hello from Wisconsin!
I've been a lurker on this site for some time, and being a fan of JP and Jeeps, I always wanted a JP Jeep. Unfortunately, we only had access to a 97 TJ, and being a stickler for detail. instead of attempting and failing the JP TJ, we decided on something different.
The project started October 2009. It was supposed to be a simple refresh/paint job/minor body work project. Like all projects, it snowballed and the rest is history.
The donor Jeep was my fiance's and sat for almost 2 years with a bad transmission. The body was in rough shape from occasional offroading and Wisconsin winters. After the transmission was replaced, we had a mechanically sound TJ with a terrible body.
My (now) father-in-law took on the task of reviving the beast.
The Jeep was in the garage for over 7 months during it's reincarnation which involved completely rebuilding the interior and exterior.
I do realize that there's another member of the forum named Jeepasaurus, and I don't want to steal his thunder. We had already named our Jeep before I realized this, so my apologies to Jeepasaurus.
