Re: KP's JW JP29 Build
Yesterday morning while I was waiting for the weather to warm up, I decided to get the spare swapped out. Took the tire to a local used tire place and the guy had 2 sitting on the shelf, traded for my spare and $20, and he mounted and balanced it.
In the afternoon, I did a final wipe down and applied the Nason brand Sand beige LJ1 paint, base coat only.
In my garage its a very gold color, out doors its more silver, very unique color. I was a little worried about how gold it looked, but as I started to put it back together it got better.
Today I worked on getting the engine bay and steering gear box/pump put back together. Also finished up modifications of the fire wall hole differences between the 88 tub and 94.
Best of all, my awesome decals arrived today, with a big thanks to Jack_Fauth !!! So tomorrow will be a long day of laying out and painting the stripes, light bar and maybe the wheels if I have time
On a side note, after I ordered decals, I noticed that the font got changed in JW on the numbers to match the style printed on the plate. It's crazy how different the JP and JW jeeps are...

Are the number decals stencils for you to paint over?

Re: KP's JW JP29 Build
The last 2 days have been long and steady. Yesterday I laid out all the stripes and stencils then masking off with plastic, which took up most of the morning. I also decided to modify the #2 on the stencil to more closely resemble that seen in JW. In the afternoon I was able to paint the stripes on. I then pulled the wheels, stripped the clear coat, primed and painted them along with the lightbar, center caps and side view mirrors.

Re: KP's JW JP29 Build
Today I started to reassemble the interior firewall/dash area (pedals, body wiring, HVAC, shifter, steering column, new polk speakers, windshield wiper assembly, and the dash panel), installed the rear driveshaft and under the hood components (rad and washer bottle, brake booster/master cylinder, air intake filter box).
Got the rear door put back together, fixed a broken stud on the rear tire carrier and installed it along with the tire (which I found out that the orentitation of the print is exactly like the movie tire, pretty happy about that). Painted black and installed the rear facing fog lights.

This is such an amazing build to watch. I can't believe you're building this thing so fast! You had 10xs more work to do that mine and you're finishing it up faster than I did

Re: KP's JW JP29 Build
Thanks !!! I've been putting in some long days on this lately mainly because the weather was in the mid 70's and ideal for paint, this week its back to 40's 50's. There are no paint booths to rent around here and the body shops are outrageous.
I also try to document as mush as I can on here, kind of serves as a journal for me and might give others insight on how I overcame obstacles in this journey and help them with their builds.
The glass guy is coming later today for the windshield, I'll post an update soon
