Yesterday I got the front motor mounts cut off, moved forward and welded to the 6cyl position (frame came from a 4 cylinder). You can see where the old mounts were compared to the new location
Image

Installed new brakes while I was waiting on parts from amazon to arrive
Image

new rubber body mounts showed up and were installed
Image
Image

once the body was bolted down using all new hardware, I did a quick test fit of all the front panels
Image

Today I got the motor swapped over from the old body to the new with all new transmission and motor mounts. I also painted the firewall black after reviewing some stills and promotional pictures from JW.

got the skid cleaned up and installed with new bolts

Spent the last 2 days prepping for paint. Yesterday I got the windshield cut out and removed all the factory stripes/decals
Image

spent today on body work and sanding, also applied new seam sealer where needed
Image

I bought my sand beige paint and performance red yesterday. Tomorrow I hope to primer the body and work on sanding the trim, doors and tailgate (still waiting on rear hinges to arrive, USPS is extremely slow taking a week or more for priority mail to arrive).

Luckily the temperature warmed up just enough today and I was able to spray some primer to the main body, its starting to look like something...

Hinges for the tailgate finally showed up today after a postal delay. I was able to cut open the holes a little bigger on the top mount of the TJ tailgate to get a proper fit. The hinges are a used set of the upgraded HD version off a 95 YJ from eBay.

Yesterday I had spent the night stripping the half doors and tailgate down to prep for primer.

I plan to primer and sand the doors, trim, mirrors, wheels, and tailgate tomorrow. Im waiting on a special package to arrive Wednesday, then lay down the sand beige paint later this week.

Taking advantage of the warmer weather once again, I rolled the Jeep back out side today. Fixed 1 small ding on each door, sanded them down then primered the doors, tailgate, mirrors and side trim.
Image

drilled the holes for the ball mount of the antenna and test fit the bolts
Image

Stuck the tail light on for mock up of the rear fog light location, picked a spot I liked and drilled 2 holes (wires and bolt) into the body for mounting (due to the increased weight of a larger metal light vs the smaller plastic and the fact that I will venture over rugged terrain, I opted to install the lights into the body for rigidity).

trim and mirrors, primed and sanded

Body primed and sanded, waiting for paint, will tomorrow be the day ???

Today was awesome ! My super special package arrived and I got it put together and test fit...

I found this light bar through the FB search bar. I looked high and low everywhere with no luck, so I tried FB and found an ad a guy posted about 6 months ago. I figured its worth a try, so I sent him a PM. The lightbar was located near a friend of mine about 9 hours away, so I had him go pick it up for me and ship it. I was like a kid at Christmas when Fedex showed up this morning :)

It was another nice day in middle Tennessee, so later I rolled the jeep back outside this afternoon and laid some sand beige on the interior and under the hood. I was a little cautious at first but after a few coats on the roll bar I was impressed.
Image

Tonight I fixed a few rough spots on the lightbar and will primer them tomorrow as well as paint the complete body
