Post by afmorton » June 16th, 2010, 5:36 am

Ive been following these projects ever since boomer started his build thread over at proptopia, and i finally found my project vehicle to join in on the fun. 95 wrangler, 110k spice interior and what i consider to be a close enough exterior color, but i might repaint the entire thing.I payed 3,000

That color looks very good.

Is there any rust or anything? What options does it have?

I would probably color sand that paint to knock the gloss down.. and then paint the red! Would be pretty easy I would think.

It's actually not a factory color option, somebody had it repainted, its very close to the sand/beige color that is understood to be the correct one, just a tad too glossy. It does have some small rust spots on either side under the stamped "jeep" logo and in front of the rear fender, which i'm going to cut out and weld in new pieces. Unfortunately it has a grey soft top and full hard doors so i have a few pieces to get for it to be correct, at the moment it has steel rims, but ive found a set of 4 of the correct alloys with the correct tires on them with around 60% tread left for $150. Im also going to try my hand at making a light bar from trampoline legs i found at the scrap metal yard.

I scored a set of rims for 116.00 shipped they should be here on friday, and i got a set of sahara seats for 50.00, one has a small tear but it should be easy to sew back up. After that theres a little patch of rust i need to fix on the tailgate then paint should be going on this weekend.

Today was a good mail day for me. Image the rims came in and i got some paint and clear on them, as well as these.Image I purchased the full decal set off of Ebay from 8-bit decals aka. Lil Decal shop, for 80 shipped, they seem to be very nice quality, shipped as seperate layers of vinyl you apply one peice at a time, and they allowed me to choose my own number, I chose to do Jp 14.
