It has been too cold / rainy / snowy here in Minnesota to do anymore work. I have purchased a lot of parts over the last week. Also did a lot of cleaning and purchased a new jack / lift to support the Jeep. Should be ready to repair some seals and start the Herculining next week. Hard to believe I've only had this Jeep for 8 days now.. but I've spent probably $5200 on it! Got new shocks today from RockAuto. They were $30 each, which is a deal better than my local Napa who wanted $40 each, or O'Reillys who wanted $45-50 each.

I'm staring at a project box right now that will eventually hold the guts of a ReplicaProps sound module with push buttons to play the Dinosaur sounds and Jurassic Park theme song. :D Hopefully through a large PA hidden in the engine compartment.

Have you seen the rear seat sub plans from SirGCal? http://www.sirgcal.com/
As of a year ago he had only done TJ's, no YJ's.

That actually is a pretty good idea. It looks like it fits perfectly, and even better when the seat is folded up. It probably wouldn't be good for the dinosaur sounds though.

I'm not really into car audio stuff anymore, but I have a series of tutorials for creating fiberglass sub woofer enclosures: http://www.ajquick.com/cars/

People need to post more. We need to help each other out more.

I probably check this site 5 times a day now. I'm extremely excited about this project.

TBH I think the less who have one the better, I have no problem helping those out who are actually going through with it(seems you are as you have invested to much to back out now) but I have talked with several who invested time and money and just backed out at certain points because it was to hard or they didnt have the time.

Alot think its a cool idea but do not realize you need alot of money or alot of patience and hard work and most of the time a bit of both. As said before we are nearing 300 members and im guessing only 10 of those are actually going through with this.

Not an easy project so I try to tell it how it is to people.

Meanwhile, if you need any pics or help let me know :) I was lucky enough to get a 100%(other than the tires) stock 94 sahara and other than the console(broken) and the door panels(im painting black) nothing is being changed.

I'm definitely in it to win it. Er.. finish it.

I was not going to actually do this. I had ridden around in Boomerjinks' JP Jeep a few times and really wanted one. But the cost of buying a Jeep was really keeping me from doing it. I had looked at a few cheap Jeeps which were rusty and would have needed a lot of work.

It just happened to work out where I found this Sahara, and just happened to get a load of cash from selling another car. Right now the Jeep and all the parts have essentially costed me nothing. Really all I have left is that light bar, and some minor mechanical work and we'll be ready to paint.

However I don't anticipate getting to that paint stage until about August.

I would like to enjoy the Jeep as a Jeep this Summer.

I found a guy who would paint it for me if I got it, he is good with painting, so right now all I need is the money, and beer, he won't charge me if he gets beer out of it..

Sounds like a good situation to be in.

The last few days have been weird weather wise. It has been so cold and rainy (even snowy) here in Minnesota. Combine that with me graduating from College on Friday and I just haven't had much time to work on it. Cut to today where it was decently 50 degrees out and I had the day off from work. (These are actually the first photos I actually took with a camera).

I ripped apart the rear end to do some axle seals and replace the parking brake cable.

Also did some work to the front end. Removed the stock fog lights, and was attempting to remove the bumper to paint it. Looks like I need to take the shackles off to do that.

Since I hadn't taken any pictures of it yet, here are a few of the interior:

Pretty nice since it only has 74,000 miles.

Tomorrow I do it all over again. Pulling the driveshaft and draining the transfer case to install a rear output seal. Hopefully my doors get here soon as well. Starting about Wednesday I will be pulling the hardtop and interior and spending a few days Herculining the floor and sides.
