Australian TJ #14
Re: Australian TJ #14
i stumbled on the ramsey on gumtree. i got all the bestop stuf through amazon prime. i could only find two shops in australia selling spice tops and one wanted $1200 for a bestop and the other wanted $700 for rugged ridge. and on amazon i got it for about $800 shipped.
anyway todays new acessory comes from the amazing fuckwits at SAPOL:
defected for
"-4x spotlights to be removed from vehicle above windscreen"
"-bar used to house spotlights (next to and above windscreen) to be removed"
the lights arent allowed to be above the roofline and the bar apparently interfers with the roll cage
while he was writing up the defect notice i was counting all the 4X4s driving past with roof racks with spotlights mounted to them. i've only taken the top section of the bar off and im going to take it with me to the police station to get a second opinion because i think this little powertripping bastard is full of shit

Jeez that sucks mate a piece of shitty sheet tube is going to hamper 1.5 ton+ from rolling onto its roll bar my ass. Let us know how you get on. The only thing on the build that will be illegal in QLD is the rear view mirror tag, I can just chuck it on at shows etc.

Re: Australian TJ #14
they made me pull it all off. that bastard put "bar on top and sides of windscreen to be removed" on the notice. wheni tried to argue to keep the brackets i asked why i still needed to take them off and all i got was "because this piece of paper says so"

Why would the police give two shits about a light bar, on a jeep wrangler, in Australia, the off-road capitol of the world? Damn man, I'm sorry for ya :/ don't give up though because of this small issue.
Re: Australian TJ #14
i had a very productive day today.
i finished the hood section of the stripe. the measurements dont quite work on the TJ because theres a raised section around the hinges that means lining up with the hinges looks wrong
oh and something about becoming a dad this morning

if i lived anywhere but a metropolitan area im sure i would have never been picked up unless i was being stupid with them. plus this state is pretty backwards compared to nearly all the others when it comes to "the outdoors lifestyle" as jeepers call it.crayZcollegeKid wrote:Why would the police give two shits about a light bar, on a jeep wrangler, in Australia, the off-road capitol of the world?
