I might scoop a Motorola or 2 off you if you decide to sell. I actually found my King Pelican a few months back pretty cheap. Posted a picture of it on my Explorer build thread. When a screen accurate part pops up you have to buy it, even though I’m nowhere near completing my build.

Update: 18Jan2020

Yesterday, I flew to outskirts of St Louis Missouri, and picked it up. it was 30 Degrees, and raining. Visually, hard to notice a lot about the jeep but bought it anyways. 644 Mile trip back home (9 hours later) I finally made it. I was surprised how well it did for gas mileage..roughly 12-14 as I did ~218 miles between each gas stop.
Unfortunately... The front of the top (besttop brand) doesn't stay down... and it was raining 7 of the 9 hours I drove home... Did what I could, thankfully made it home safely. I was too exhausted to do anything right away, so I slept.

This morning I woke with some renewed energy... Washed it, Cleaned the engine bay and got a real solid look at her... the below were my findings.

-Minor rust in a number of areas...Not overly surprised, but since its all going to be repainted anyways.. not much of a big deal.
-Crease in the hood..notched on both sides... unsure of how..but its maddening to see while driving down the road
-Front of the top leaks above the windshield, and the top behind the driver side has stitching being torn out...
-Some minor wear and frills on the driver seat from being slid in and out off
-Tear from stitching on back right side of top
-Not the original Rear bumper..and its itty bitty (the hunt for one of those begins)
-Tail light lens upside down (housing of the eft rear light broken, non pictured)

Update Day 1.2
So, After all of that... I did a few minor things, (did a lot of reading and research more than anything else).

-Cleaned the engine bay
-Replaced the Air Filter with K&N
-Double checked all fluids
-Put in injector cleaner with Fuel
-Cleaned doors and dash with Magic Eraser
-Washed entire truck
-Removed both Fog lights (front right had no lens)
-Drilled and placed new CB Antenna on truck with measurements from Reference guide on JPMP website.

-Discovered Light bar does NOT fit (insert eye roll) holes are slighty off... like 1/4 inch... very upsetting... may be for a TJ model...(Its for sale...)
-Cleaned and Placed rear taillight lens in correct position.
-Truck was inspected, will be able to get a plate Tuesday
(Demo Painted a Radio... i'll let it dry overnight and see how it turns out) Pics to follow.

Finished for the evening.. (although I may tinker a little bit, but nothing picture worthy)

And yes, I am aware the antenna doesn't sit straight up... I was unaware of the ball mount / adapter until after I drilled the holes...
I have yet to decide what to do with it, but im sure I'll fix it soon enough.

Day 2 update:
1st order of business... That dam rusty, mangled looking Spare Tire Bumper/Stop..... had pitting, bubbling and corrosion all over it..and seemed like someone ad just sprayed it black..... My OCD couldn't deal with it, so sanded and repainted it (temp job) will get full and complete love when the entire things repainted. Does look much better though.

-Mounted the KCHilites, and they look gorgeous! 😍 It took some figuring out.. Thanks to Aris video.. I made sure I matched up the lens so they wouldn't hit anything (Tail gate) and they were straight... lot of measure twice, cut once.. But damn they look good. (taped off the wiring for now until I figure out how to run it to a dimmer switch (& waiting on the heat shield to get here from Troy).

The CB Antenna being crooked from day 1 was driving me crazy..... soo, I took it all apart again, rotated the outside mount and fixed its orientation. Now itll stand straight up if needed..
-Gave the Light Bar another go... it Fits..more or less...(basically..3 of the 4 bolts fit in.. the last one just wouldn't do it... unconvinced with how or why this is the case, but its one there for the time being. I’m still planning to get a one piece from Jameison fabrication.. Meaning that frankky may end up with this one, He's already asked me to send it to Germany... so, As soon as I hear back from Jameison that they can make what i'm looking for. She'll be out of here.

Although not pictured, I do have some friends that may be able to restitch my top in the areas where the thread as gone missing from. So, I think thatll be a pleasant task (and save me from buying a new top).

Still waiting on my Decals from 401 to come in... Was thinking of getting the temp/magnetic ones.. but..may just wait until I can figure out how to do the paint... I went to a local shop and they quoted 14k!?! … i'm pretty sure i'm going to get a few other quotes first.. Or see if @jurrasicVic can help a brother out.

I did paint another radio today, Pics will be tomorrow when its dry. I have military obligations tomorrow, so I wont have any major/big updates tomorrow... Maybe the finished radio..but that'll be it.

Day 3 Update:

Well, Plans change... So, I did a few more odds and ends today...

-Second Radio came out much better than the demo. Very happy with the progress, waiting for the stubby antennas to come in, but the'll be finished up by the end of the week.

-Now that I got myself a Sander & Dremel, I revisited the spots previously hand sanded and was able to do a much better / cleaner job. Went back, sanded to bare metal, cleaned and then primed. Wanted to remove the aftermarket rear bumper...but no such luck due to the Fuel tank skid plate (& thus the fuel tank) being FULL and in the way... (I decided to pull the license plate bracket, and plastic fuel cap housing surround instead... and while it was out, cleaned it, sanded and painted it as well. The new flat black looks very inviting. (No picture for the moment)

- After all the Body spots were done, decided to go after the extra original spare tire... Tired of seeing the rusted & gold color... I took to it, and hit it with Rustoleums Satin Red Apple... 3 coats and she was ready... I used Barrier paper, taped it together and around the wheel, then cut a hole only incasing the wheel so as to avoid overspray. It came out really well, and will work as a temporary. (Display only)

- Managed to pick up the Pelican case... and its had stuff all over it, and glued to it, etc... I plan to clean it up, sand and repaint it entirely too... I may leave it a primer color.. or if I find a nice grey color... not too dark, but wont dry as white...

-While driving with windows off, noticed the exhaust is leaking... fairly potently. So, I'll be shopping around for a new exhaust and gaskets tonight..
