JP36 WIP (This is going to take a while)

Post by Tylermays1996 » August 21st, 2019, 4:24 pm

Recently traded my 1974 jeep J10 4.2 pick up for a 1988 jeep wrangler 4.2 that once was a Jp jeep.
This jeep had been sadly abused in the past and is going to require extensive body work and a new block due to rod knock and a split in the cooling jacket from age.
besides that and crappy after market gauges I hope to peace this thing together in next 2 years or sooner.

Tear down went smoothly for the most part but ran into gremlins that need to be addressed before I can continue.
-windshield frame rusted through
-cowling rusted through
-dents every where >.>

Anyone have a factory gauge cluster that they wouldn't mind parting with for a 1988-1990?

oh no! when you said windshield frame i was thinking the glass section. Is that black piece on the glass section covering up rust? That looks like something that was slapped on over the rust. Lots of builds require a new frame but that rust on the dash side is another story.

Due to being out of work there has been quite the progress made on removing the engine and replacing rusty parts.
