South Dakota 1989 Jeep Wrangler Sahara JP #10

Postby ratrace427 » May 4th, 2018, 8:13 am

have you thought about just leaving off the roll bar and going with the tool box's? I always thought #10 was the best looking jeep. also, would it be safe if the box's had weight inside? the rear weight would prevent the rear from swinging out and it would keep it planted down.

If a T-rex can't knock it over then it must be safe. =p

Not a lot of people want a short wheel base/high center of gravity/convertible with no safety features  You flop or roll - you're toast!

Speaking of which, with the rollbar removed - its pretty much a full time convertible. Unless you have fulldoors and a hardtop sitting around.

Yeah I like having just the roll bar, makes it feel a bit safer lol. The box's would be cool for sure!, But sacrificing saftey wouldn't work for me. So far, I'm really liking having the Jeep all decked out. It brings joy to almost everyone that sees it on the road!

Had the Jeep at the movies for the premier. It was a hit! Also took my dog for a ride, he loved it!

Yes I used camo tan. It used about 12-15 cans of tan 8-9 of red. It has held up good over the past year, but it sits inside a garage most the time and only come out of the garage in good weather. So not in the rain or snow. If it was outside all the time and used in all weather, it would have deteriorated a lot.

This is the most recent picture I have, just taken two days ago. Again, I only take it out when the roads are clear and I do not go off-roading.

Sweet pics! Was just some snooping on other build threads. As for your grinding when going into reverse, these things didn't have synchronized gearing. What I do is (since I park it in gear), I put it in neutral, throw it up in 1st gear real fast THEN into reverse. Haven't had a single grinding since I started doing that.
