This will be the build thread for Chris H and his Jeep #18

It will finished by Saturday so i don't want to post all pics till he picks it up but i think a teaser is OK :D

here is what we started with, A decent 1994 Sahara with all the important conversion parts

This was the day he dropped it off 3 months ago.

it also came with the original soft top and half door...it even had the correct door panels with the pockets

started the teardown, took off the stripes and started taking off the fender flares. Jeep had alot of rust issues...


got the wheels off it and off to get sandblasted and got the crappy broken hard top off the jeep

Looks better already....

next started cleaning up the rust on the frame and under the jeep. Mostly surface rust but i wanted to clean it up and get some Por 15 on it for future protction

Jeep needed a drivers side fender that was a hugh pain in the ass to get off....

This jeep also had the usual cracked exhaust manifold so i thought it would be way easier to do this while the driver fender was off

boy was i right, replaced it in 3 hours , start to finish. That is the way to do a manifold. Mine took over 8 hours across a 2 day span

Also got the wheels and tires painted and mounted...this i think makes the biggest step towards looking like a jurassic jeep

found a light bar on craigslist and had it sandblasted so it would hold paint

original owner was kinda dumb he cut alot of stuff off and broke a few things taking the jeep apart...like the side steps
These were butchered up pretty badly so we had to find new ones of these
