Re: My "tour" Explorer WIP
Negative. How does one even strip chrome off?
Same process as my last brush guard though; sanded the chrome, 2 coats of primer, 10-12 coats of paint. Used rustoleum enamel this time instead of the "trim and bumper" junk stuff. Wanted to achieve some gloss. Came out lovely!
I got a quote from a local shop to powder coat it so I'll do that eventually. Not bad at just $275, maybe more now though since I painted it.

Finally finished my center console. Relocated my warning lights and turn signals to the center above the AC controls, backlit using LEDs. Now I can get that stinkin dash in!

Re: My "tour" Explorer WIP
Mine vs. the original. Lots left to do though:
- Custom seats/upholstery
- Fiberglass roof dome (halfway done fabricating!)
- Acrylic bubble roof
- Dash "track" cameras
- All clear windows
- Accurate running boards, antennas, and rear guards, roof fogs
- Modified front fog lights with clear glass
- First aid kit in cargo area
- Fire extinguisher and Maxa Beam (wishful thinking on that MaxaBeam! $$$!)
- Night Vision goggles
- Refinish dashboard and center console
