Hi!

After my first Jeep fell through and could find no other even close to my price range, I decided to go with the explorer instead (plus all the cargo space!)

1993 Ford Explorer XLT, all stock aside from new engine parts and a battery.

I picked up the car last night, the engine and important stuff run beautifully, only about 103k miles. It needs some work cosmetically, like replacing the passenger side mirror, and some minor bondo filling after I sand the paint. Speakers need rewiring, heater doesn;t work, and the dash doesn't light up, but all easy. The entire inside will be redone anyway to make it screen accurate.

Right now, this is just the car. This will be a fun journey!

Thanks! I sort of spent all my funds to get this, so I have to get some more prop work done to pay for the conversion. I have the side and hood decals ready to go fairly cheap, and have the painting planned out. I am also modeling the custom dash for milling so I have it right.

So much to do, little funds, haha.

Here is my work on the dash. This will be either laser cut in layers or done with papercraft, both methods would be reinforced with fiberglass and smoothed with bondo.

I don't have any of the holes for the vents, TV or steering wheel cut out due to wanting to be 100% sure where I want to cut. I do have this as accurate in shape as I can, including the indents on the back of it.

Thanks a lot! While this is being funded entirely by donations and any extra I can make after bills are done with props (which sadly isn't much) this will take a while to actually make most of these parts, but I can prepare!

Some work on the custom roof, rear end. If you watch the movie you will see a vent type thing in the back, I will actually use that for venting out the car in the heat. While there will be upholstery covering the part that connects to the glass top, air will still be able to pass as I want via slider or servos.

The forming buck is modeled for the class roof. I will do final smoothing of it after I build it so the glass forms accurate to the movie.
