So today was a good day for getting stuff done. Since I spent most of last week finding and procuring, it was nice to get my hands dirty.

I started by washing, sanding and painting a few tires (3 of the 5)
wheels

I would jump between tires and windshield so that I could sit while taping the tires.
tape

I took my second can of spray paint and started on the hood. Its supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow and I didnt want any steel showing.

After getting the paint as nice as I could, I ran out of "Shock Red" so I had to go order more.

So, I attached the front bumper with Winch plate.

and thats all I have accomplished today... Its supposed to rain tomorrow, which is good since most of Tennessee is on fire... but it means no progress on JP18 until thursday at the earliest....

Thanks for reading

Congrats on finding your set of proper wheels! That didn't take all too long.

Neat to see the stripes coming together. Any reason you chose to do the red before the sand?

I had some rust that needed covering, and its just the first coat. Once I have the sand done I will do the back stripe and the second coat with a clear gloss varnish on top. The biggest thing was to stop the oxidation from destroying the frame around the windshield.

Looks like you're making good progress! Before you get too far though you may want to recheck that angle on the front stripe. It's definitely off. The 2 lines should be parallel.

Quick update,

The rest of my paint came in today. I haven't touched the Jeep in almost 2 weeks because I went into the hospital with Acute Renal Failure. (because kidneys are a crutch) but now I am close to normal, with tylenol taking the brunt of the pain left over, and I should be into the final legs on painting this weekend. I should be getting some help too which will be key to getting everything perfect.

More to follow this weekend.
