Hey Everyone,

So after being out of commission and then playing catch-up, I finally got to do some work on JP18 (or 81, i'm on the fence about it)

I started stripping paint and the older decals...
Dino scratches
Dino scratches
Then Stripped all the paints... like all of it... and added the first coat of Sahara Dessert Beige (you'll see)
darker when wet
darker when wet
I was able to get up to the red primer and decided to lay down a base for the numbers instead of doing decals
Getting tan
Getting tan
The weather was a balmy 52 degrees which made it difficult to dry outdoors, but I'm willing it to dry overnight so I can finish up tomorrow...
All the wheels are done, but the wheel/tire combo on JP18 right now are bigger than the Sahara Alys, and I guess the tires dont interchange, so I will be selling the oldies and purchasing some whitewalls with the money.... in theory. It would be nice to get BFGs but I don't know exactly how much I can afford yet...

New Decals for the doors go on in the morning, followed by prep/paint/(and hopefully)Decals for the hood, followed by stripes (to spec) and a nap. (haha, like I sleep)

Thank you for the well wishes, I'm still recovering, and working on the doors and rear end of JP18 gave me a new pain to deal with today. But drugs are kicking in so that wont matter here in a few minutes.....
Doors! with dark wet paint still

After the sun went down, I had about 30 minutes of 50 degree temps, then called it a night.
until tommorrow
until tommorrow
Still a bunch to do... but its getting closer. and the paint dries much lighter. (I had a miniheart attack until the tailgate dried)

More tomorrow,
Nic

Hello Everyone...

So I painted some more....
Some paint
Some paint
Then decided I was going to finish, weather be damned....
more painting
more painting
I finished the body desert beige, then moved onto the hood.
even more painting
even more painting
Then kept working the hood...
more hood
more hood
Finished with desert beige!
DONE... sorta
DONE... sorta
Then the redding begins...
stripe lines
stripe lines
and After 2 days of non-stop paining....

Drumroll....
WOOOHOOO
WOOOHOOO
Fancy Lighting
Fancy Lighting
JP18
JP18
So now I am down to a few things that need to be fabricated or bought...

Lightbar
Sidesteps
second clear coat
the entire interior...
CB antenna
a replacement zipper pull ( I literally shattered one on my rear driverside window)
and probably a million other things...

I did replace the battery today. so win on top of the paint job, but now i need to figure out where the leak in the engine is coming from.... anyway...

Let me know what you think!

Great job! It's time consuming but definitely worth it! Good luck with the rest of the build!

Thanks Boost,

Hopefully the clear coats knock down the darkness of the "beige color" its a little lighter from drying but.... either way I think it looks sick lol.

Playing around
Playing around
So after a few weeks, the color has faded down a little bit, but I think I'm going to have to add some more opaque clear coat.

I added the BFGs and have put off searching for more accessories until I get to California next month. Let me know what you guys think.

She's looking top notch! It's always fun to get the jeeps out for an icy drive.

Yeah, It dried wayyyyyy darker than I had expected. But its okay. I think I'm going to change it to JP10 and modify it from there.

JP18 may have to be a new project when I get to California next week.

If you build JP10 are you going to remove the rollcage and install the jobmaster boxes?
