It was 70F on Saturday, and here we are two days later with upwards of 3 ft of snow in my front yard.

My other YJ (trail Jeep) had no problem breaking free of the ice prison. This one is a separate work in progress, so ignore the mismatched panel colors.

It isn't a project Jeep until it has worn mismatched panels, haha!

The paint process looks like it is coming along great! As for the measurements I used them as guidelines and applied my own reasoning where applicable. I think you'll be fine with your solution.

Nice to start w such a nice jeep, I had a ton of cancer to fix and frame peices to weld, but upside, I only paid $1200 and it still runs and drives and it's a Sahara. Looks good so far. I have a long way to go before paint.

There are a few issues that I've hidden from the cameras. Nothing major, and completely repairable. I took care of several surface rust areas, grinded down, body filler, etc. But there is a through hole that will be covered by a flare that I will have repaired by a pro with a TIG welder in the spring. The driver's floor pan is also in need of a new panel. After the floor pan gets welded in I'm going to Raptor Line (Tinted SBP) the tub interior.

I've decided to 600 grit and re-clear the body. One, I didn't get the mil thickness I wanted, and two I want to eliminate or make negligible the stripe seam depth differential. That will happen this weekend.

If time allows I'm also going to BC/CC the tailgate, wheels and windshield, and some accessories (door hinge mounts, headlight trim, mirrors). The hood and flares will be the absolute last body pieces to get painted.

Honestly you're probably better off replacing the entire tub. A Jeep yard usually has them rust-free for $300-500.

It all depends on how much time and energy you wanna put into it. If you have the skills and time, I say go for it. If you don't know how to fix it I say go for it and enjoy the project. Have fun!

The price tag climbed a bit today as I put some more accessories on order including a class 3 tow receiver, entry guards, spare wheel lock nut, winch plate, wiring connectors, LED bulb replacements, new weatherseals all the way around, hood latches, hood grommets, and more. I updated the spec sheet in the original post.
