dang.. still can't the process right. this is

2oz paint
1oz reducer
.5 oz hardener

I sprayed at a very low pressure with a gravity feed and sprayed it on very thick. next I will try changing the ratio. I am going to add .5 oz of paint to my current mix.

thoughts?

I asked the paint place to make the paint darker to better match the original color but they won't do any better.

here I tried zero reducer. it's the best I can do. the paint recipe just isn't right. zero reducer is on the left/ top of photo.

2oz paint
.5 oz hardener

I polished the original 1992 hinge seen in the photos. seems that the color gets lighter the shinier it is and it's more gold when the surface is dull. this finding makes sense but it can't get any shinier or polished than it already is. I think it's a combination of several factors that makes the new paint different. out in the sun the original polished paint and the reducer free re-painted hinge look really close, but there is a difference in the metal flakes within the paint. I wonder if the 25 years of sun has made the original paint more gold?

I got the rugged ridge hinges installed last night. what junk! anyways I should have found good used instead. If I was doing this over maybe just adjust the play out of the hinge. it was dark by the time I got this junk adjusted but I will get a photo uploaded today. the reducer free paint looks awesome! my eyes tell me it's the exact same color when bolted down against the body. I will see what the camera picks up later.

It rained for two days with the jeep sitting outside and i didnt think anything of it. I sometimes drive it in the rain vs the hotrods but it just didnt happen this time. Anyways, when i went to get in it the passenger floor had water sitting in it and the driver side was very wet. It was sitting on ground that wasnt level so it could be door seals or the window frame seal. I think its both actually but when i went to the car wash i didnt find anything crazy bad. I will start with the windshield gasket. More torqx bolts from hell im sure, but i have snap on bits and a impact gun.

The way it was sitting i think the windshield produced the small wet driver side and the door seal created the passenger floor board pond. my research will continue.

Just a few little things that i have done this summer. I bought a few stickers from johnathan householder and from summit racing to freshen up some things. I also installed the metal round 4 pin connector on the solenoid pack. RV-528C is the part number for the 4 pin connector.
