I could not stand that ugly steering wheel any longer and thanks to ebay i have a perfect one now. It came in the mail today but i had to wait till i got off work to install it. I put it on using a drop light.

Oh i know, but i spent good money for this one. It will stay i guess due to the up sides of having it. It is bent away from the top which makes the top easier to get on and off. I dont think i will ever put lights up there but if i do they can be folded down out of the way when not in use. the whole top of the bar can pivot.

I think i have finally scored a winch but it is in Florida and the shipping will suck. I am going to pay $250 for the rep 6000 so the price is right. It has a late model blue sticker on the motor so i will need to talk to you guys about making a round silver one. I am planing on masking the other stickers off to paint the hole thing and i will try to get by with polishing the chrome rods but i bet they need redone. I had a chrome bumper once that started to rust. I polished it up real nice but it rusted back super fast.

It was on ebay, they were selling it mounted to a brush guard. I asked the seller if they would take the winch off and just sell it by its self and they said yes. It has what i think is a late model rep 6000 sticker and the paint is kinda bad but this is expected. I will post pics. the ebay pic might still be up. I will check.

I will have to put some resto work into it. Do you guys think i should change the cable out? I dont know how long it will take a new cable to look like the one that is already on it. I think i will run into town tomorrow and check prices on a new cable when i order a mounting plate.

That brings me to a new topic...Mounting plate does and donts? I was thinking about buying a cheap china made one as long as it doesnt have a bunch of holes all in it.

It worked out where the seller didnt want to sell the winch outside of ebay after the first auction ended so they put a second auction up with a flat rate $45 dollar shipping charge. That seems like a good price but I never had the shipping quoted. We had previously discussed a $250 price tag but whatever!? Turns out he gave me my $100 overage charge back because i was suppose to do a best offer price of $250. I do not understand the best offer concept and how it works. I didnt want this one to slip through my fingers like the last one i found so i bought it now right when it went live. Anyways for $295 if it works i can make it look almost new again.

I went into Tulsa today looking to find a mounting plate and info on a replacement cable for the winch.I found out, that only a Ramsey plate will work with the rep 6000 due to the location of the control pack. Lucky me found a old dusty box at Sams off road. Sams has been a Ramsey dealer long before they went bankrupt and just happened to have one plate left. (New in the box) To sweat'n the deal he gave me a hawse fairlead. He says no one uses those things anymore.

Now i need to get those big bolts out to mount this thing.
