Well, it's been a while, so here's a short update. I got the fogs and aux light wired up, and working. I bought oem side steps, and got them installed. I bought and installed Spice roll bar padding. I got the jeep back from the body shop. It's all fixed from the wheel incident, including side steps repainted. All in all, it's shaping up nicely. I also got all of the decals applied today including turning my Joop into a Jeep. The last thing that I need to do get the wheels either painted or powder coated. I'm looking for a place around Oklahoma City to do it, so if anyone can recommend a place, please let me know!

Place in Moore (if it's still there) to the west of I-35....north of 5th street if I recall.
I only know of this place after driving past it with a friend....that's all I've got...sorry.

Hello all, a quick update, and a question. First, I just got my Wrangler back from the shop. I decided to get the suspension (Shocks, leaf springs, U-bolts, & shackles) replaced with all parts. My fiance won't ride in it, because it was such a rough ride, and it was showing some real wear and tear. I replaced everything with heavy-duty parts, and she rides MUCH smoother. Second, my question. I don't have the pouches on my seats, but I came into a set recently. I guess my question is 'what's the best way to attached them?' I know they where originally attached via needle and thread, but I REALLY don't want to attempt that. Any ideas? Thanks!

I physically sewed the straps and the top back to the seat with needle and thread. Sure it's a pain, but it's the best way in my opinion as you're restoring it tp its former glory. I did however physically pull the seat out to do it.
I guess it really depends on how they were removed. Mine were cut so I had to unthread the remanants and then resew everything else back.

You could try gluing them....but I honestly don't know how it'll take.

What suspension did you go for I need new springs, mine are starting to bend the other way ha haa! As for the pouches, how about getting industrial strength felcro one bit attached to the chair one bit the bag at the top?

Thanks for the ideas. As for the suspension, I went with Crown heavy duty rear leaf springs, and regular front. I went with heavy duty pro comp shocks. I also got no heavy duty shackles.

Ok thanks. I need to replace mine but I'm unsure on what to get & heavy duty etc confused me. But it's quite pot hole ridden around my area & the roads have been dug up & re done badly all over, so a smooth ride on heavy duty sounds good to me!?!

haha, smooth. Even with a full heavy duty suspension replacement, it'll still be rough. These things weren't built for comfort. It definitely made a difference for me, but it may not be enough to make it worth your time & money.

Oh yeah I know it's going to bounce & be no ship cruising the Caribbean on a calm day, but I'd rather feel like they aren't going to snap on the next bump ha haa

My leaf springs are squeeky and nasty and sagging ... I should redo the suspension as well.... but thing are going on that I can't justify the expense right now.
