I'm working on restoring the front bumper & Winch. I did a full teardown of the winch.

Hey Brotha- What paint did you use as your base? Is it the factory Sand beige Lowgloss? Or did you go another route? Love the way yours looks, More gray than tan... Would love to know a paint code and/or brand. Im about to paint my Jeep.

On page 5, he says he went with Champagne. Which is the stock sahara color from 93. He can verify, but both sand beige and the champagne can look very different in different light. Mine happens to also be champagne as I have not repainted it yet... so you can look through my build thread for pics of another one in champagne (i'm sure there are others I just don't know which ones are which off the top of my head)

PS. the sand beige will look more gray than the champagne though. in my opinion. (and if you are painting it anyway, it will 1- be worth more when you resell if it is the correct color, and 2 - what if you kick yourself that you didnt get the correct color later down the road).

PS#2 there are a ton of JP Jeeps in California, so hook up with some members of the motor pool and see one in the correct color in person before you decide. If you don't know about the motor pool.. drop imperialtrooper a PM.

Thanks so much to getting back to me on all that. I do like the fact that dull sand beige changes tone depending on the lighting. I like that ambiguous tan but also gray feel. All good ideas- and yes I definitely need to get more info on how to hook up with some motor pool members that are out my way. I'm also using your idea of black plastic dipping eagle eye lights for the rear ambers- yours look near perfect. I'll have to hit you up again when they come so I can figure out the right way to brace and install them. Thanks COBrian!
