Re: It was "In the making" but now "It's made"
PPG offers paint in all the original interior colors. I painted mine door panels the green they offered and I couldn't tell the difference when I put my painted door panels up against the real thing.
Some food for thought

Is it a paint or a dye? I dont know how many ricer cars i have seen with the paint scratched off of every panel on the inside.

It actual paint. There is a difference between using a PPG product and spray bomb. I know the scratched up look you're talking about. I competed my jeep back in 2009 and it's been my daily driver ever since and the door panels still look like new. With the paint I used you can't even tell the door panels were painted. When you go to buy the paint you need to tell them its specifically for plastic. Then they add a flexer and adhesion promoter and also sorts of other black magic into the paint to make it stick. Also prep work makes a huge difference too. Making sure you get off all the years of armor all and then wiping the door panel down with an adhesion promoter makes a big difference. This stuff isn't cheap by any means. I believe it was close to $100 for the smallest can you could get. Its a few quarts I think. Anyways another avenue to explore.

I'll take a look for the paint code. I still have the can around somewhere.

You can double check but it was also in that thread you posted the link to. That paint code saves me a lot of time thanks.

Re: It was "In the making" but now "It's made"
I drove around Tulsa today looking for a place that sells PPG paint. I found one just a few minutes ago on the phone but he didnt know anything about adding stuff to the paint to get it to stick to the plastic. He was saying to use a promoter that sprays on before you paint. The paint code 47091 was not a problem but the SC in front of that number was unknown to him. I did get a good lead on a place called Dr Vinyl that does all the touch up work for the Chrysler dealer. I think i will stick with this plan for now. I hate to spend money for paint that doesnt have the right additive. The Dr vinyl guy is out till Thursday so i wont know anything till then but i am told he can match any color dye, but he probably only sells his services and not the dye he mixes.

Re: It was "In the making" but now "It's made"
I did get these shackles while in Tulsa. They were $10 a piece after tax. Ouch! They are made in USA though. They had some China ones that looked larger but they are larger because the material is weaker. Plus the pins on these are painted red. Thats cool
I could take them back if everyone thinks they are not as cool as movie accuracy. I am on the fence. I think what needs to be done is the 1/2 inch holes drilled to 5/8 inch holes. I could get 1/2 shackles vs the 7/16 that you are seeing in the photo.

What are those shackles rated at?
I'm pretty sure those points were used to attach the jeep to the back of a camera truck, so I doubt they ever used them with shackles, but hey who am I to say. I kinda like the look without, but if they are rated high enough, they could be useful if you ever have to get pulled outta something.

The shackles are rated at 3000 lbs. each. They might have used shackles to pull the jeep behind the camera truck.
