For anyone about to change their fuel filter for the first time; be warned!!

Standard fuel filters for many Jeeps have a 90 degree elbow either in the fuel filter itself or the rubber hose connecting to the fuel line.

You can buy the rubber elbows through the dealership, but all evidence points to almost $30
Compatible fuel filters with the elbow in the inlet are few and far between around here so...

The standard 3/8" line with a larger line I had left over to avoid the 'kink' that may occur once the line is pushed upward and the plate has been replaced.
$3.89 on sale this weekend at PepBoys.

Now I've seen the rust down there however.....I can't sleep

I'm getting adventurous now.

Running boards were painted (remember the flaking?) and they look awesome.

They messed up the red/gray alignment on the other side so they're redoing that one.
I also found out the exact colors used for this Jeep.

'Viper Red' and 'DuPont Trailer Gray'.

Next weekend I plan to replace the rear brake pads and the shocks; they look to be original

It was very nice to meet you and your wife the other night. After seeing how the Viper Red "pops," I'm going with it for my red. Also, I'm going with the gloss finish. Hope to see you again sometime.

Well the battery has been struggling to start recently so went into Autozone to get a new one.
While there I got an R134a recharging canister because my a/c was blowing hot air.

New battery in, some correct/better sized hoses as well and off I go to recharge.
Charge was low so charged it up to the recommended level and started her up....still blowing warm air.
Left it running for a few more seconds and it's either me imagining things or it started blowing air that was 'a little' cooler but still not cool enough.

Thoughts?
Opinions?

Do I just empty the whole charging can into the system (didn't take the whole thing to charge it to the 'recommended' level based on the temperature) or what?

Was your A/C converted to 134a? Pretty sure it originally came with R12.

The unit states it can take both R12 and R134a and reviews are mixed on if you need to drain it or not.
I'm guessing I need to drain the entire system first.

Researching further I guess reviews aren't as mixed as I thought.
Some had it work, others did not.
Either way I'll get it drained and the oil replaced.

The level was low, but it was where it was supposed to be with the one can.
I don't want to trash my compressor so I'll drain it before I go any further.

Not sure what good draining it will do. If it had R12 in it it'll probably never all be removed. You may have some other problem if the level shows full.

I'm reading that the oils used are not compatible but the recharge hose connected correctly to the a/c so it must be r134a already and not r12, right?
