After seeing this. I am almost certain you have hit the right color paint.

Sand beige poly 92 Jeep Color: 27055

Its weird because it was a 1992 Jeep Color, but it probably wasn't available on Saharas. They could have been special order?

In 1992 there was another beige color offered but it wasn't low gloss
the saharas may have come in the other color but the jeeps in the movie we defiantly low gloss
perhaps when the movie guys painted the jeeps the low gloss red then they thought it looked really dumb with glossy paint on the rest of the jeep so they sprayed the whole jeep with some low gloss clear coat
maybe but who knows

They also could have just color sanded down the paint to a different level.

Knock the gloss off the paint.

yeah who knows ,i just saw the color ,it looked close to the movie , and it was already low gloss
