Haha, look at what I found!
I was just browsing around looking for jeep parts and scrolled past this picture. I had to do a double take, and sure enough it is a pair of YJ Sahara foglights someone mounted on an XJ. So I made contact with them and they were still there. I bought them and they are on their way.

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!
haha..but they work great when they are mounted almost as high as the headlights. Ok so heads up when taking these apart for clean up. The harness that runs to the back of the bulb has the ground wire attached to the bulb housing. It attached to the housing with a male wire end terminal. Its hard to explain but anyways the metal is going to be brittle so slowly remove the wire. I broke mine off before i new anything had happened then had to make a new ground point on the bulb housing.

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!
So I was able to purchase two sets of KC HiLites. One set has clear lenses and the other has the amber.
I bought the clear ones first, or really I traded for them. I found a guy that had bought a front bumper for his truck and these were on it at the time of purchase. I ended up trading him a barely used set of KC daylighters for them so not too bad. However before I made the deal I didn't notice that one had a crack in the back bezel. The rest of them are in pretty good shape.
The amber ones I won off of eBay. I bid on them before I had the trade deal for the clear lensed ones worked out, but since I was worried that one or the other might not go through, I aimed for both. Luckily I got both. The amber ones are rough. The metal on them is so rusted that the screws that hold everything together on the sides are not recognizable as screws anymore. I am a little worried about taking them apart to restore them. I know you might say, "Hey you have two sets, if you mess one up you should still be able to make two for the Jeep." And you are right, but since I know how hard these are to get. I do not want to damage anything more than it already is. I will post pictures with my progress when I get the time to play with them. I have also ordered some parts and have come up with what I think is going to be a unique way to wire them where I can run them any time I have my headlights on. I will post that also with a detailed description of how to do it.

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!
I received the fog lights that came off of the Jeep Cherokee. They are not in as good of shape as I would have hoped. One has a broken front and rear bezel and both of them have rust on the inside of the lenses. The salvage yard also left the brackets for the fog lights on the Cherokee. I have already talked to them and they are going to be sending them to me today. Don't know how easy it is going to be to restore them, but here goes nothing. At least I have one good bezel.

Okay I got lucky again and found 1 original fog light on a Rio Grande. I saw this picture on eBay, called them up, and ordered it. We will see what condition it is in when it gets here.

I'm amazed at how easily you are able to find these parts. I've been looking for sahara fog lights and rear amber kc hilites since october and have had no luck.
