it might be easier to have your mechanic do it, i wired some overhead lights on my old jeep and while they worked, i eventually had to take it into my mechanic to do it because i kept blowing the fuse due to a short.

Look through this thread
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=453
and especially this website is pretty helpful (from the thread)
http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-cor ... wiring.htm

The fuse is to protect the wire, so get the proper wire size for the amount of power you're drawing, then get a fuse size to match the wire.

What I would also suggest is to find a local Jeep group, and find someone there with a good working knowledge of car electronics. Not only will they help you for the price of a 6-pack of a quality micro-brew, or dinner, you will also learn how to do it yourself.

here are some samples I made

Beautiful Jeep either way! Just thought that might make a neat cover plate for the rest of your glove box. How useful are the lights? Are the Jabsco worth the money?

On a side note, I've got that same Ikea lamp
Ok here is a little write up on the lights.

These things are alot of fun and I really am getting good at driving and using them( at least the far left one)
I can reach that from the driver side. I like to blind the smokers out front of work in the morning when i enter the parking lot.

The Jabsco light switches are made to be mounted left to right , not up and down like the movie installed them.
I had to rewire them to make the light go up when i pushed up, before up.. would cause the light to go... right.
so now none of the colored wires match up but the lights all go where they should.
I wired them into the fuse box so when the key is off they will not run. This way they are only live when the jeep is running and the altentator can keep them from killing the battery
They are super bright and will shine a pretty long way. It would make a great hunting set up.

Only con i have is that the light motors will not run unless the light is on, which means you can't adjust them unless you light em up. I wish i could just move them without blinding others...hehe :D

All in all they make the jeep more interesting and people cannot belive that these light move the way they do.

I am very glad i did #12 just for the cool factor of these lights

You can rewire them so the motors work without the lights being on, I don't remember exactly how I did it but it was pretty simple and is done on the switch side.

Does anyone know of a wiring diagram? I can take a look at it and maybe figure it out.
