I removed the decals today. I only got one side done but i did buff that small area shown and the hood. The rest has not been buffed.

Also what does everyone think about leaving the WRANGLER decal? Im thinking the red might clash really bad.

Wow the two pictures do not even look like the same color. Lighting really effects the color tone. In real life you can also see the lines a little better than the pic is showing. I tested that small area that will be red anyways with a little sanding. It helped but i went through the paint in no time. Not worth the risk.

I would remove the wrangler decals, but they'll probably still be visible, much like the stripes.

I went to Target tonight and in the parking lot lights my Jeep looked about the same color as in the second pic. I've taken a dozen pics of mine and sometimes it looks champagne and others it looks grey to silver. Kinda crazy.

You can still see the lines on mine but I figure they'll be painted over eventually so I'm not too worried about it. I've never done any kind of paint work so when I tried to sand down the lines I picked a spot that would end up red as well (I wasn't happy with how it turned out either). After I took off the pinstripes and saw the lines I decided not to take off the Sahara sticker on the front. I can always take it off before the base color get's repainted later on.

Got the rest of the pin strip off today. I also washed all the junk left behind off so that i can buff the whole thing. The new top comes tomorrow and i need to buff before i put that on. The buffing compound will get all over it otherwise. That stuff is hard to get off once it dries. It looks like white dust that will not wash off.

What top did you decide to get... I'm currently searching for a replacement and trying to weigh all my options... By the way, a group of us is headed in our Jeeps to see the Dinosaurs at the convention center this Saturday afternoon... You should join us...
