Modern #09 JP Jeep

Post by TheSniper9 » August 21st, 2011, 8:51 pm

I got a Wrangler as my first car (with the idea of someday making it JP theme)back in 03-04 and have been driving it ever since with out problem, I just recently graduated college and have some free time till I find a job so I figure now is better then ever to start my project in turning it in to a JP theme Jeep! Now I know its not going to be exact since its a 2000 TJ Jeep but I figure I can get it close enough (and come on, everyone loves the round headlights!)

Want to say sorry about some of the pictures my camera is not the best.

My first step in turning it was the seats, now the seats as you all know are a 92 Sahara Seats... not the best fit for a TJ model but that did not stop me! I found a cheap set on ebay last week for just over $100 and got them a few days ago and started my conversion!

Look how much better they look compared to the standard red/green/purple things they call seats...

Out with the old and in with the new!... er old?...

I think that is going to be the hardest part of the rebuild since I ended up having to build my own brackets to attach the old YJ seats to the TJ slider/riser correctly. The rear seats are not going to be able to be changed out, the YJ and TJ are just to different to work out so I am going to find a nice tan/leather seat cover for it so it matches the spice pads and leather strip on the front (close enough for me)

Next Ill be getting some spice colored Sports bar pads and Soft top which will be easy to get but after that I'm going to be stuck till I can find a nice set of TJ Half Doors because I don't want to start any of the paint till I have all the main body parts.

Welcome aboard. Nice catch on the seats. I may have to compare the price difference between having mine fixed (normal wear and tear) and picking up a set off of ebay because those look great.

Wow those seats look a lot nicer in there than the stock seats!

Im thinking of doin somethin similar if my dad gives me his 99 safari edition. I feel that I wont have to change out the seats though cause of how similar they are.

Thanks, yeah I always hated the stock seats they just never felt like they fit with a jeep but after building a custom bracket to attach the YJ seats with the TJ sliders it all worked out nice.

Yeah, I would recommend keeping with the TJ seats unless you know how to work some tools to build a custom bracket that is stable enough to support the seat and a person or the whole thing could fall apart on you while driving.

Nice Jeep! The round headlights are indeed more beautiful.
