I guess the gas tank skid plate swap didn't go as smoothly as we thought. Sunday morning I went to get the Jeep to drive it home. I started her up, and while backing out of the garage, she started sputtering and died, then fuel started leaking all over the driveway. I guess dry rotted 20 year old fuel lines don't like being messed with. Another 3 hours of dropping the tank, and replacing the three lines, and everything was good to go. I went to the gas station around the corner and the attendant came out to take a picture!

Yesterday (Monday) afternoon I actually got it home, finished putting the doors together and put the soft top on, so now it's at least weatherproof. I was going to drive it in to work tonight so I decided verify all the lights work. Guess what, they don't. Aside from checking the headlight fuse, I decided to save the troubleshooting for another day. One of the grill turn signals is out (with the lights on), but flashes with the blinkers. Both headlights don't work (low beams, forget to check the high beams). With the lights on, both tail lights barely flash with the turn signals. I'm hoping that it's just a single simple fix that's causing all these problems.

It sucks when you fix one thing then something else breaks right after.

Yeah, I strongly suggest anyone dropping there tank go ahead and replace all those lines while you have it out. After mine sat for most of the winter, one of mine leaked when i drove it in the spring. I replaced ALL the rubber fule lines when I was doing it, both the filler vent, as well as the fuel supply and vapor lines that go through the frame and conenct with the hard lines. The parts are cheap and dropping reinstalling the tank isnt exactly fun!

Of course I didn't change the fuel pump, which looking back I kinda wish I had as well.

Took the past week off. Spent 3 days camping and a night at the casino. Did what I could in the meantime. Before and during all this, I started working on replacing the shackles. It probably took me 3 days EACH (2-3 hours each day) for the rear shackles. I struggled a bit with the inner and outer metal bushings. The front driver's shackle was maybe a 20 minute job, not including running to Lowes for some washers to put in as spacers. The front passenger shackle on the other hand was a completely different story. For future reference, Rough Country springs are garbage. If you look back to the first page of this thread, you'll remember I replaced this spring a little over a year ago because it was bent. When I pulled out the shackle bolt, instead of the spring dropping like all the others (because of the sag), it sprung up quite a bit. Had to disconnect the sway bar and used a farm jack on the front of the frame to get that shackle in. Overall, a major PITA. Here's a really crappy picture halfway through the last shackle.

I still haven't "test driven" it to make sure there's no issues with the driveline since I just dropped the Jeep ~1.5". I spent the entire day trying to get the carpet back in. Again, it was a bit more challenging than it should have been, partly because I don't remember how it was when I ripped it out, and mostly because I'm running a number of new wires that are kind of getting in the way. The biggest struggle right now (and where I left it tonight) is under the dash, it's not exactly sitting correctly, and a little bunched up around the accelerator pedal, which isn't cool.

Also forgot to mention I picked up the tires from tirerack and got them mounted and balanced. Found a place local that did it for $10 each :o 31x10.5r15 tires. I'm still not crazy about the suspension height, but maybe it will grow on me. Maybe next year I'll downsize to 2.5" lift springs.

And my custom door pockets. The half doors I picked up weren't Saharas. Went with green instead of tan because the entire interior is tan.

I haven't done any measurements, but it's a Rough Country 4" lift plus the 1/2" shackle lift. The RC springs are sagging on 3 corners. Next year I might buy a better quality 2.5" spring kit

I'm in the process of adjusting the turn stops because the tires are now rubbing on the springs. Just snapped off the driver's side... this should be fun.

Got quite a bit done over the past week! On Sunday I hooked up the amp to the front speakers so now I have sound. Also got the front and rear fog lights installed. I installed the front fogs and took the jeep for a spin and ended up loosing one of the stone guards, so now I need to find a solution to fix that issue..

Only took a picture after it got dark out so here's a sneak peak until I get around to taking better photos.

And how bright they are against the house. Might need to install some lower wattage bulbs

Trying to get everything buttoned up before this weekend. There is a "Great American Jeep Rally" on Saturday I'm going to try to get to... kind of late in the season for too many other car shows.

Aside from the overhead lights/light bar, whip antenna, winch, missing stone guard, and front license plate and mirror tag (will try to get to those later today) it's done! Who do I apply to to get my member name color changed? :D
