Kaedon's JP Jeep #27

Post by Kaedon » February 10th, 2013, 10:40 pm

First off, I guess I will make the fairly obvious claim that this will not be a "screen accurate" JP Jeep in the sense that I am not building a movie Jeep (one of the jeeps directly featured in the original film) but rather, I am basing my project on one of the many numbers that would have presumably been used at the Park but not featured in the film or main story. That being said, I will still try to remain as true to the movie as possible and borrow elements from the different variations of the Jeeps used.

Having peeked around the forums for a few days, I've discovered (or so I think?) that nobody has used the number 27 yet. Not my first choice admittedly but I like the idea of the number being unique and should help avoid any future confusion and such.

On to the Jeep itself, I'll try to get some pictures up in the next couple days or so. It is a 1994 Jeep Wrangler, it has a 4 in" lift kit and step up in tire size as well. It has a hard top and full steel doors. Like a lot of jeeps it has it's battle scars, a list of which I don't need to get into detail of course.

Edit: 02/12/13 - A few pics I managed to take before it got dark today.

I have many ideas for the Jeep but I think it might be better to address them individually as I move along, as I'm sure I'll change my mind on some things and can only do so much at a time.

As for my most recent activity, I just recently gave the Jeep some much needed maintenance including: Oil change, replaced a tire and got a spare to match (was using the original standard size tire), fixed a couple of minor electrical issues (and in the process discovered a brake issue, fun), thanks to a warranty I also nabbed a fresh battery at little cost.

Recent purchases and tasks on my plate: Bought new speakers and stereo to replace my broken one (not related to the Jurassic conversion but hey, gotta' have some driving tunes), I also just ordered a paint sprayer and paint. After some reading in the paint section I opted for the Harbor Freight High Volume, Low Pressure Spray Gun Kit and ordered my paint from TCP.

Sounds good. I'm on the hunt for my own Wrangler (or Cherokee) for my own conversion and Park use modification - kinda taking the same direction as using a "Park used" vehicle vs 'on-screen' vehicle.

Good luck, looking forward to the build pics.
