Thanks for those links! They were really helpful. i took a green scotch brite pad over the whole body and then wiped the entire jeep down with paint prep adhesion promoter
i even taped on the base coat to do the red stirpes and the paint stayed put when i pulled the tape

i actually used left over paint from my full sized conversion so this jeep is the correct sand beige poly in low gloss
red is just a spray can from a local hardware store, i will get the actual color and brand tonight when i get home
