Re: It was "In the making" but now "It's made"
Unfortunately these winches go for about 450€ (540$) a piece. Because of their weight they cost another 200$ minimum to ship.

Oh yes, I bought 2 rep6000's. They are quite common in france for some reason. Shipping winches is always a problem, even from France to Belgium,so I pick them up if close to the border.

Re: It was "In the making" but now "It's made"
Oh I didn't know! Unfortunately they are no longer available in europe. When I bought 2 for me and a friend from the official Ramsey distributor in Belgium, they told me I bought the last ones.
It's funny as sahara parts are extremely rare in europe,Ramsey REP6000's and winch plates are not.

Top winch plate is the version 1, or the bottom one? (the bottom one is the one Ramsey sold in europe till a few years ago)

Nice build! job well done!
The reason there is a gap in your carpet next to your stick shift is because you have an automatic (manuals have 2 stick shift levers)

Great restoration of the winch! How did you spool (?) the cable around the drum without power? These cables are a pain in the ass to keep together

Re: Jurassic Jeep #21 (1 step at a time)
Powdercoating the winch is not a good idea. The coat is too thick and will chip off at the edges. Also, your parts will be baked between 284-428F which can be a problem for the motor tube (with the glued in magnets). Assemble the winch and paint it,add some clearcoat for durability.

Re: Cryo Can building questions
The barbasol can used in the movie has indeed no bevel between the lid and the top of the label. A detail that is overlooked by most of us,and something I did not even noticed before I read about it on the RPF forum. This makes it a lot easier for whoever want a barbasol can as a prop in the jeep th...
