Re: The quest for the most accurate JP explorer replica ever!

Definitely not. The low backs give it away. Almost all of the interior was custom made with the acception of the door panels being painted. They were basically stock explorer seats recovered.

The seats were custom made. They look similar to jeep grand Cherokee seats bur they were confirmed to be custom for the production.

Re: The quest for the most accurate JP explorer replica ever!

It looks amazing! Dont worry about the small things that people will not notice. I think my Jeep is completely different but people always think they see me somewhere that i am not. You are just like me, so i understand but the tires will be noticed. It bothers me a lot. I know people wont notice b...

Re: The quest for the most accurate JP explorer replica ever!

Okay kind of a big update here. A lot has happened over the past few weeks and I've just been too busy to report- but here it is. As you can see, I installed the hood spot light and 'close enough' brush guard. The brush guard is the right manufacturer but it is made for a 96 explorer. I had to modif...

Re: The quest for the most accurate JP explorer replica ever!

Bumpers and grill are now painted. Next I will be putting on the 'close enough' brush guard until I can find the screen accurate one. I also need to paint the hood spotlight and put it on which shouldn't be too difficult. After that, I will be heavily focusing on the interior and getting the bubble ...

We travel throughout Texas frequently so I definitely will. Probably won't travel with it until it least has everything but the roof done, however.

Re: The quest for the most accurate JP explorer replica ever!

Wow, it's coming along beautifully. Props! So you should be looking good in time for the movie. Where in Texas are you?? I'm in Houston. I actually live in the Shreveport area of Louisiana but I bought the truck in Dallas. It should be done before the movie but I've been running behind thanks to so...

The quest for the most accurate JP explorer replica ever!

Like all of us, I grew up with Jurassic Park and it has been one of my favorite movies (if not favorite over all) ever since. My love for the movie never seemed to die so when I was financially sound enough (and had a good excuse) to make one, I jumped at the opportunity. I chose to do an explorer b...
