Great idea, camo green it will be. That will be a time saver.
Thanks

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
A trailer would be nice as well. However, since we are running our own Jurassic park (cattle ranch) with the bull being our T Rex. Yes he tests the fence line all the time. Given a chance he might even eat someone (LOL). I think the barbeque grill would be more proper for us. I always have a few hun...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
After pricing out all the suspension parts needed to bring our jeep back to road ready, shocked the hell out of me. I decided to find a donor jeep. In my search I found this, 1990 YJ. Payed $500.00.The body is very, how do I say this in a nice way, gone. (rust bucket) However the steering gear box, ...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
I guess that would make them functional as well. I am going to just play around with them and see what the best look is. Heck, I even have a very large supply of strobe lights that came off of Police vehicles. We finished the rewiring of everything inside the jeep. Now we are going to do the body re...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
Thank you guys for the input on the rear yellow lights. Adding them to a switch would work. However, like all toys, boys must play. Your right, ending up with a ticket. Maybe more real then you would think. Putting them on a dimmer switch is a great idea. However, will I be attempted to turn them up...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
Thanks. Starting to stock pile what we need for the build. We are going to pick up the 102” antenna with spring and ball next Friday. My son has a great lead on the rims. My older son works for a large tire distributor so they are covered. Looking for a windshield and frame along with the side board...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
I know, right. it's going to take a week or so just to bring the jeep up to road ready. I knew this when I picked it out. We could of found a newer one that all we had to do is paint and jp parts. However, I didn't think my 17 year old son would of taken much pride as he will bringing a jeep back to...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
Hi to all. The last two days were spent rewiring the jeep. For some reason the owner by passed the fuse block for all the lights. :x To turn on tail lights you had to flip a switch. For headlights you flipped another switch. Running lights, turn signals it had none. Now every thing is back in the fu...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
Hi all, Well we got started on our teardown today. Here is the pics. My son, jumping right into it. The wiring under the dash looked like a French kitchen, a lot of spaghetti . We gutted most of it and started rewiring it all. They had more wire nuts and black tape under here then your local supply ...

Re: Kid and Son's jeep for our JP Build
After a long back and forth conversation, we decided to leave the shackle lift on it for now. However, we are going to remove the body lift. That will close the space between the body and frame, putting the shifter and all back as it should be (5 speed). The steering column bushings are shot. What a...
