Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

I completed my Jeep at the end of May 2015. I should have my iPad fixed where I can post pictures on the forum. I made a Facebook page for my Jeep if you all would like to see it. I will also post about events and locations that the Jeep will be at on there. Thanks again to everyone on this site. Al...

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

I am sorry about not responding to anyone's posts. Since my grandfather passed away earlier this year I have been so busy with the sawmill, the farms, and probate I have not had any free time. I have had several people send me questions about the fog light set up and I am trying to get some other pi...

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

Thanks Brian. I was trying to make it as clean as possible. One thing I didn't talk about in the last post is how I have made it possible to run the amber KC lights when I have my parking and head lights on. Warning: before any of you do what I am describing, or plan on operating your Jeep on public...

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

I also installed my KC HiLites last week. Before I did I also replaced my tail lights since someone had replaced them with trailer lights that didn't have the side reflectors, which made them illegal. Not to mention the fact that one looked like cap. So hey, an excuse to buy a new part that makes th...

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

Had the wife help me spool up the cable the other night. I purchased a Daystar Hawse isolator. You can see it in the picture between the clevis hook and the steel Hawse fairlead. It keeps me from having to hook the clevis onto the tie bars and cleans up the look of the winch. Most importantly it kee...

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

Yeah I marked it first and was going to drill it out. Then I thought I should check the screen shots and IOA Jeep pics and saw they had them. So Cannon won over as always. Here are some pictures of the winch and mounting plate after I sanded and painted them then mounted them on the Jeep. I ran the ...

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

I almost forgot to post this. When I refurbished my YJ fog lamps I used the TJ fog lamp wiring. The grommet was the perfect size, the wires were the perfect length, and the wire colors matched the wiring on the YJ. I bought some weatherpack terminals off of eBay to replace the TJ plugs. I didn't hav...

Re: Scott's Jurassic Park Jeep Build!

Yeah. I was planning on painting both the front and back bumpers when I have the Jeep painted, but after putting the winch on and seeing the difference it will probably happen sooner. And by that I mean this weekend.
